Small Works Supervisor

 

Location: Sir Charles Parsons School, Westbourne Avenue, Walker, NE6 4ED

Working hours: 38.75 hours per week, flexibility required, typical hours 9am to 5:15pm

Contract: Fixed Term Contract, January 2027 to June 2027 

 

Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) provides hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. We work across sectors including education, healthcare, emergency services and commercial, assuring our customers of high-quality, best value and a sustainable approach.

 

RFM has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, with a turnover of £181m for FY2025 and employs more than 1500 people. We are now on a growth trajectory, with ambitious plans to grow the business to £300m turnover by 2030. Our plans for growth require RFM to ‘make the market’, and to be at the forefront of high value opportunities in the FM marketplace

Your new role

What you’ll do:

The main purpose of the role is to organise the day to day running of the site and to supervise all trades, delivering a high quality of work to ensure a circa £2m project is constructed for a proposed handover of July 2027. You will be expected to manage sub-contractors on site, keeping Principal Contractor related paperwork up to date and following all safety procedures in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Plan. 

  • Follow all SHE principles on site.
  • Liaising with main contractor and associated trades during the build.
  • Quality Control
  • Make sure all plant and machines are used efficiently on site
  • Maintaining safety records
  • Keeping site records up to date
  • Maintain filing system
  • Ensure site is tidy and safe and liaising with a live school during the construction phase.
  • Keeping safety/scaffold/plant register is up to date
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with CDM.

What you’ll need:

  • Qualifications/certificates:
    • SMSTS
    • CSCS card
    • Temporary Work Supervisor
    • First Aid at Work
    • Fire Marshal
    • Previous experience in the construction industry
  • IT competent: in Microsoft packages.
  • Experience in dealing with architects, engineers, clients, sub-contractors
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Full driving licence

The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS Check before starting in the job.
