Role: Contracts Manager

Location: Gateshead

Your new role

Responsible for the successful completion of all projects encompassing planning, programming, financial costs, quality, and health & safety, whilst representing the Robertson’s values and image.

Robertson Homes have key processes for production reporting, quality, customer journey and Health & Safety. The Construction Manager role is key to ensure all team members understand and comply with the process’s requirements.

 

DUTIES:

  • Project Responsibilities
  • The ability to go beyond the normal role of a Construction Manager and be involved in other areas of the business i.e. the ability to co-ordinate and manage information and provide expert advice to design teams on buildability and cost.
  • Manage the project teams to ensure completion such that budget/time/standards are achieved, whilst ensuring H&S remains our number one priority.
  • Develop and maintain the construction phase H&S Plan
  • Ensure the works are executed within legislative and Robertson procedures
  • Monitor the construction phase H&S Plan
  • Maintain a working knowledge of H&S legislation including changes to legislation
  • Carry out audits of H&S as required by Robertson procedures
  • Advise others of H&S requirements as per their role and responsibilities
  • Advise and vet on potential subcontractors
  • Assist QS in placing orders
  • Hold and chair regular progress / planning meetings with subcontractors
  • Day to day planning of the operations and problem solving
  • Prepare regular progress reports and attend meetings for the Project Progress.
  • Work closely with QS and be actively involved in the procurement process from start to completion of the project
  • Manage the construction team to follow the customer journey
  • Requirement for previous civil engineering and high quality finishing projects
  • Must be able to demonstrate capability to manage major projects and staff
