Maintenance Engineer - Gas

What you'll do:

• Undertake planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance work either independently or supervised
• To undertake maintenance duties in such a manner as to support the objectives of the client and with respect for the dignity and privacy of the resident group.
• To ensure the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools
• To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety
• Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM
• To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and ensuring all tasks are completed within contractual timescales, informing the administrator or Contract Lead of any follow up action that may be required
• Full compliance of handheld technology (PDA & Tablet) using RFM’s management system FSI Go
• To take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hr, 365-day cover to the Facilities
• To report all accidents and incidents as per RFM’s Health and Safety Policy
• The post holder will be required to maintain an awareness of RFM's policies, procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
• To provide support and assistance to other RFM personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.
• To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the RFM Contracts Manager or sub-contractors of any follow up action that may be required.
• To carry out any other duties assigned by the Management Team in connection with RFM’s operational requirements (must have an understanding of pumps, motors, and fire dampers)

What you'll need:

• Time served Commercial Gas Engineer with experience in installation and maintenance work
• We would expect excellent Customer Care
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Must be capable of being registered with Gas Safe (CCN1, CCP1, CENWAT, CIGA1, CORT1, CPA1, HTR1, ICPN1, TPCPIA, CODNCO1, CDGA1, TPCP1, BMP1, JO1
• Hold a current valid IPAF / MEWP license.
• Experience in AHU / Gas Heating Plant Control systems
• Experience in commercial/industrial gas installations
• Experience in Managing Permit to Work Systems i.e. Working at Height use of high level and powered access equipment, as well as the use of portable and fixed ladders.
• Water Management experience of L8.
• Health & Safety Certificate
• Post holder must hold a full current driving license and be willing to travel

The successful candidate will require a DBS/Disclosure Check 

Who we’re looking for:

The post holder will work as part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality Reactive Maintenance, Planned and Lifecycle service for the contract within the given region. The post holder will have a designated core skill (Gas) and will be expected to lead in this area but will also be expected to undertake any property maintenance work within the post holder’s range of competence. The post holder needs to have a flexible working approach as the role will require tasks carried out that may be out with contracted hours of work.
