Contract type: Full-time, permanent

The post holder will be required to manage and deliver a Grounds Maintenance service to contracts accross Scotland. To work with the Operations Manager in identifying potential new business from existing contracts accross Scotland.  You’ll be joining a business that thrives on achieving results that benefit people and communities, and offers fantastic opportunities for career development.

Your new role

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of Grounds Maintenance services accross Scotland taking responsibility for performance, human resource management, quality and profitability.
  • Develop and manage a grounds maintenance pricing schedule suitable for both internal and external clients and be responsible for pricing and delivering grounds works projects.
  • Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of all tools and equipment used in the provision of the service ensuring safe and efficient VFM operation.
  • Liaise with Client Representatives and Contract Managers ensuring positive constructive relationships based on good service delivery.
  • Recruit, manage and develop/train staff, ensuring a positive employment culture, effective training strategies and high retention levels.
  • Monitor performance and provide formal monthly reports to the Operations Manager confirming compliance with the requirements of the contract and identifying issues for discussion, future workload, risks and opportunities.
  • To operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health & Safety Regulations, COSHH, Environmental issues and Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.
  • Maintain an awareness of RFM’s Policies, Procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service.
  • Work flexibly within the wider RFM team undertaking any other duties assigned by the Regional Manager in connection with RFM’s operational requirements which contribute to growth and profitability.

 

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • The postholder will hold a relevant degree/diploma or professional vocational qualification in a Grounds Maintenance/Horticulture discipline or have equivalent experience.
  • Management of Grounds Maintenance services with practical problem solving, property maintenance and external grounds projects experience will be required.
  • The postholder will have experience of hard and soft landscaping. Experience in the delivery of amenity horticulture services will be essential.
  • Interpretation and implementation of changes to legislation within the context of providing Grounds Maintenance.
  • The postholder will have at least two years experience in a management/supervisory role.
