    As a Buyer, youll be responsible for:

     

    Deliver Robertson Group Procurement and Supply Chain strategy and all areas of procurement within this, under the supervision of the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain in relation to the following:

    • Issue pricing documents to relevant suppliers to meet site programme requirements
    • Evaluate tender returns taking account of value adding service to give a whole life cost
    • Conducting final negotiations with selected suppliers to enable contract award.
    • Raise Purchase Orders for all Materials and Plant Hire on selected ERP system in line with company policies and procedures.
    • Liaise with sites to assist with the resolution of supply issues as and when required.
    • Work with and advise Project Teams on material specifications and alternatives where appropriate.
    • Provide regular reports on procurement betterment and supplier performance.
    • Attend site and office based Project Meetings as required.
    • Monitor and maintain vendor database to ensure that it contains up to date details of available suppliers
    • Manage relationships and Supply Chain agreements with selected suppliers, including renewal; performance; spend; strengths; weaknesses and opportunities
    • Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers and products and meet with suppliers to understand their product offerings.
    • Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
    • Investigate and support the resolution of supplier invoice queries.
    • Be aware of the Company’s standing on Health, Safety and Environment at all times 

     

    To join us, were looking for: 

    • Qualified to HNC, Level 4 CIPS or equivalent.  An interest in studying towards full MCIPS membership is advantageous
    • The role will require previous experience of procurement processes within a construction related environment.
    • The individual will need to demonstrate a proven track record in negotiation, process compliance and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
    • The role will require excellent analytical and IT skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to ensure best value procurement.
    • The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential
    • Demonstrates a passion and excitement for his/her work.  Tackles problems head-on and works to resolve them without delay. 
    • Willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations.  Continually searches for ways to add value and take performance to the next level. 
    • Puts aside personal agendas to work for the benefit of customers and suppliers and other stakeholders.  Proactively builds knowledge through sharing ideas and expertise with others.
