This role is working for Robertson Group Human Resources / Employee Relations based in Stirling.

As Human Resources Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing the Employee Relations team to provide comprehensive and exemplary support and advice for line managers in their management of people in all areas of employee relations, including attendance management, performance, grievance, discipline, restructures and creating an engaging culture.

  • Proactively identify and address key business-related HR issues e.g. turnover, retention, employee engagement and absence management and work with other Group companies identify Key Performance Indicators.
  • Act as the main point of escalation for employee relations case work, leading on complex cases and sharing learnings across the department.
  • Review policies, procedures and employee handbooks on a regular basis, to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Foster a positive working environment through employee relations activities and various communication and involvement initiatives in order to improve employee engagement across the Group.
  • Manage all TUPE transfer programmes, including preparation, consultations, trade union involvement and negotiation; ensuring the relevant legislation is complied with throughout the process.
  • Ensure that the HR team are fully informed and trained, where appropriate, on relevant legislative changes and developments.
  • Monitor the relationships with relevant Trade Unions and maintain consultation agreements.
  • Manage campaigns on data compliance; for example Right to Work in the UK.
  • Liaise with Bid Teams across the Group to review the employment issues associated with future bids, contributing to bid text and presentations as required.
  • Manage RFM pension schemes (non-Standard Life) and liaise when required with pension providers.


To join us, we’re looking for:

  • Degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of all areas of employment law/people management/HR.
  • Ability to support organisation development.
  • Ability to lead and develop HR operations team
  • Knowledge of Transfer of Undertakings for the Protection of Employment (TUPE) legislation and its practical implementation.
  • Ability to maintain constructive relationships with external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
