Robertson Partnership Homes has an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based in Edinburgh.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements with Sub-Contractors
  • Re-measuring work using site measurement, measurement from drawings
  • Estimating, preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works for pricing
  • Dealing with tender stage subcontract and material enquiries
  • Keeping master files of contract correspondence
  • Re-measuring work using site measurement and measurement from drawings
  • Informing sub-contractors of contract variations
  • Valuing variations
  • Pricing dayworks
  • Assisting with reporting on contract performance via monthly cost/value reconciliations
  • Agreeing client and sub-contract final accounts
  • Preparing Surveying Reports for Chief Surveyor


To join us, we’re looking for: 

  • Ideally applicants will hold a BSc in Quantity Surveying however applicants currently studying towards this qualification will also be considered
  • Previous industrial work experience is required
  • Ability to take off drawings and prepare schedules of work is necessary
  • Accurate numeracy skills and a methodical approach to working is essential
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Competent  IT user
  • General knowledge of the construction industry is essential
  • Valid CSCS card (desirable)
  • Valid driving licence
