This role will be working for Robertson Timber Engineering Limited based either in  Elgin or Stirling (depending on the successful candidate location).

As Joist Designer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing Joist Designs and details for a range of projects and support the Design Manager/Team Manager/Team on joist details along with other external and some internal designers
  • Preparing drawing / document packs for issue internally and externally as required
  • Preparing drawing register & issue sheets to accompany joist drawings
  • Dealing with external consultants & clients
  • Processing information to the factory by way of accurate production drawings & cutting lists

To join us, we’re looking for: 

  • Good level of general education including 5 standard grade passes
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or similar joist software package
  • Proven track record on joist designing & producing fabrication drawings
  • Able to work on a wide variety of projects from housing to commercial
  • Able to coordinate TQ with clients architects & deal direct with engineers
