This role will be working for Robertson Group based in Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh

Your new role

  • To maintain all accreditations in respect of internationally recognised standards and other certifying bodies held by companies within Robertson Group, including Robertson Group itself and in particular, Robertson Construction Group. Accreditations against international standards include, but are not limited to, Health and Safety, Environment, Quality, Energy Management and Sustainability. Current certifications granted by other certifying bodies includes, but are not limited to, PEFC Chain of Custody, Achilles and CHAS.
  • To support the maintenance and administration of our accredited Management Systems to help govern our activities, ensure the consistent application of all core standards and to achieve a consistent standard of quality in all activities across all companies within Robertson Group.
  • To support Robertson Group and its companies in securing new accreditations against any new standards or the like and as may be required.
  • Develop and manage a realistic programme of internal and external audit as is necessary to attain or maintain all Management System accreditations.
  • Manage our internal quality team to assist in delivery of the programme of audits
  • Attend and assist with any audit as required
  • Through the audit programme, verify the level of compliance with the Management Systems across the companies and through a process of continuous review of audit findings, highlight any improvements considered necessary to the Systems
  • Manage submissions to external accreditation bodies to ensure accreditations are maintained, or attained in order to meet the requirements of Robertson Group companies
  • Provide regular management reports to the Group Management Systems Manager or any other reports as may be required by a Director
  • Provide leadership, direction, training and guidance on all aspects of the Management Systems to staff at all levels within the Group
  • Organise and chair annual Management Review meetings
  • Organise and chair working group meetings associated with the introduction of, improvements to, or integration of management systems
  • To enhance and develop current Systems, in conjunction with business unit management teams, to help project teams deliver the best possible outcomes for projects on an ongoing basis.

What's in it for me

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Experience of the construction industry and / or facilities management
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO Standards and associated Systems
  • Experience of the transition of Systems to meet the evolving ISO Standards
  • Experience of internal auditing across a variety of Systems
  • Experience of Management Systems across a diverse group of companies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence as required
  • IT literacy including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook together with MS Sharepoint

A valid driving licence, a willingness to travel to Robertson offices and project sites and the ability to undertake overnight stays away from home


In addtion, candidates should have: 

  • Compliance & management systems experience at senior level
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to take responsibility for own work
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with a methodical approach to tasks undertaken
  • Ability to work to meet key reporting dates to fit with wider Group requirements
  • Ability to represent the Group in the best possible way at all times, to be courteous and professional and to maintain high ethical standards
  • CSCS card holder

The working hours for this role are 38.75 hours per week
