This role will be working for Robertson Group based in Stirling

Your new role

This position will be responsible for leading and developing a team of buyers that are aligned to specific client groups within the Robertson portfolio of companies.  It will play a pivotal role in delivering a robust and efficient procurement service, focussing on establishing long term internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the profile of the department and their team.

 

Oversee all aspects of the procurement process for direct reports and ownership of complex procurement requirements in compliance with the Group Procurement and Supply Chain Management strategy.

 

  • Line management of a team of buyers to supervise and provide guidance on procurement processes and procedures
  • Engage and develop relationships with key internal stakeholders including managing directors, commercial and project teams to understand their requirements
  • Manage strategic relationships with external suppliers to enable continuous improvement in the supply chain
  • Report on procurement betterment and supplier performance
  • Monitor compliance with Robertson Group procurement guidelines
  • Preparation of request for proposals and quotations utilising suppliers from the Robertson Group approved database
  • Compilation of data relating to supplier responses, highlighting any inconsistencies and presenting information in a manor to enable thorough evaluation
  • Conducting negotiations to enable shortlisting of suppliers for effective procurement exercises
  • Liaising with site and project teams to provide innovative solutions to their procurement requirements
  • Ensuring the alignment of suppliers with Group supply chain framework
  • Managing the appraisal process for direct reports, performance benchmarking and continuous improvement

What's in it for me

  • Qualified to Level 5 CIPS, degree or equivalent industry experience. An interest in attaining full MCIPS membership is advantageous
  • Substantial experience of managing complex procurement requirements within the construction industry
  • Experience of managing and developing a team of direct reports within a related environment
  • Demonstrable track record of strong commercial awareness and ability to manage and enhance strategic supplier relationships
  • Strong ability to engage with stakeholders both internally and externally across all levels.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Excel
  • The ability to adopt a pragmatic yet disciplined approach to process compliance is essential
  • Attention to detail and analytical in approach

 

The working hours for this role is 38.75 hours per week
