This role will be working for Robertson Facilities Management  covering various locations in Newcastle and Gateshead.

Your new role

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the building is open, ready for use each day and providing a security support to building as required. 

  • Regularly check external perimeters of all buildings for vandalism and any other damage and take appropriate remedial action, including the reporting of incidents to the appropriate persons
  • Maintain security of the building, ensuring any faults are reported to the appropriate persons immediately
  • Provide continuous security cover carrying out regular patrols and responding to alarms
  • Carry out general Caretaking duties, including but not limited to cleaning yards, car parks and general amenity areas, pick up and remove loose litter
  • To report any structural defects or hazards in the building or any repairs required to furniture and fittings
  • Provide information, in a pleasant manner, to staff, students and visitors to the building
  • To operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Waste Disposal, etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM
  • Exercise economy and energy efficiency throughout the building, for example, by switching off unnecessary lighting
  • To report all accidents and incidents as appropriate
  • Maintain awareness of RFM policies, procedures and objectives
